We are a group of filipino anime, games, and manga enthusiasts who wishes
to introduce the Japanese sub-culture through related stuffs.
Respecting each side of a coin, we value everyone's opinion.
We don't want fame. We just simply value Information.
[Announcement : Closure]
We know that this blog is full of our memories since 2013.
Various people joined our activities and hangout.
Even if it is only for 1 and a half year, it did contributed as to what we are right now. And it's nostalgic to see how we was back then.
It is sad to say that ever since the era of Philippines Otaku Facebook group had vanished, our blog do too. Why? Because this blog had only one purpose, and we wouldn't forget that as that is our banner.
This is our Hall.
The hall where we commemorate selected and outstanding people who contributed to the group. Not just memories, but experiences as to what would it be if we were actually to socialize ourselves to the people who we only met at the internet.
Various Friendships boom, as well as conflict and hatred.
It is inevitable, but we accepted it.
And now, I, Admin angelo, who managed the blog so far. And my Co-Admins and friends who proactively stayed beside me for the last two years will be closing this Blog.
That doesn't mean that we will erase the blog entirely, we will only stop updating this blog.
After all, this blog is full of our memories.
We may, one day, in the future. Stumble upon this website again, see our old self's and friends, and laugh as to what we were doing at that time.

Being one of the active members up the point of Hangout sessions, he became a member of the "High Council", separate from the administrative rights, it;s still on a higher position than a regular member.

Long time no Post?
INACTIVE BOREDOM
Well, things became a bit busy just after the 1st semester hit off last June. Of course, it is related to studies and other stuffs.
So, what were we doing this past era of in-activeness?
Many!
Yes, many. And most of them are games, chat and event meetup.
All of us, or let's just say, "Majority" of us is playing the Web-browser game "Kantai Collection". I already explained this in the past so just visit our previous posts to understand what i'm talking about.
While the era of Kantai collection is alive in our mind, There's a certain event that breaks the mind and spirits of some Teitoku/Admirals that made them leave, abandon, or go on hiatus from playing the said game. Indeed, that was tragic. Various ship-girls sunk, inevitable and numerous DameCons are used, precious time were sacrificed, and at the end, some the players felt that the developers are just trolling them.
So, what did those player that left the game do? They find another game of course.
The next game would be this Android/IOS rhythm card game, and not just your regular rhythm game like Osu! or djmax. Why? Because it's full of Idols! and when we talk idols, we are talking about "Love Live! School idol project" that was aired in Japanese Television as an anime with a total of two seasons and a movie. The name of the said game is "Love Live! School idol festival", in short, "SIF".
At first, it is only available in japan, but afterwards, the English version came up and many players joined in, some spend real cash for in-game bought items such as Love stones, and other more. This one is addicting too , especially when there are regular events that you will compete with other players in terms of ranking, of course, the chance of you gaining a higher rank depends on how strong is your collection of cards is (from Normal (N) cards to Ultra-rare (UR) cards).

Yeah, we aren't bored during this past inactiveness of the group/blog.
just remember, the in-activeness of the blog is directly proportional to the in-activeness of the Group.

Kantai Collection Drama CD 01 - Hiei's (Deadly) Curry
Hi again guys!
These past days, i encountered a rip of KanColles first drama CD on soundcloud, and just this week, some anime subbing group made a translation of it.
After watching it, all i can say is, "what if the video is not just a slideshow with subtitles?"
after that, i decided to make a video that looks like visual novel.
using the subs from that subgroup, i finished making it for 3 days!
in case you are interested, here it is. :D

Coming back or not?
Its been a long time since the last post eh?
Last post in this blog is dated past February! which means, there are absence of posts for almost at least 3 and a half months! This may be a sign that our group, the page, and this blog is inactive and won't perform actively especially that the classes in many campuses is already resumed.
Either way, That won't stop me from posting updates, Reviews, and many more! Why do you think this blog is made? of course, it is to share information, happening within our group and some news freshly released from our sources that is relevant to our interests.
During the months of not posting at least one update, what actually happened is, the blog and the group is forgotten due to the games of the admin were playing.
As some of you know, it is "Kantai Collection".
"Ragnarok Online" and "League of legends" is also a part of that absence too.
Honestly, me too, had been pulled by the game.
Since we're talking about Kantai collection, a browser game limited only to Japan, but somehow had been bypassed by foreigners. we might as well, share some experience about this too.
The game characters is referenced from WWII imperial Japanese navy ships.
This ships is illustrated as cute girls categorized as Destroyers, Light cruisers, battle ships, etc. just like what type of ship you usually know in a Naval fleet.
This game, in actuality, is a card game where "Luck" plays a great role.
When you enter the game, you will be given a choice on who will be your first ship (A destroyer class). after selecting, you will do the tutorial. After doing the tutorials, how-to and ifs, you're on your own.
Luckily, there are Wiki sites that helps New players this days not compared to the days where the data on Wikis are still insufficient
One part that seems enjoyable in this game is, how you organize the equipment, what type of fleet are you going to made, Numerous decisions, and of course, numerous number of ships that you might want to add in your fleet.
Beware though because not every time goes the way you wanted.
One of them is the "Sortie"
you think the abyssal ships is your greatest enemy in game? Think about it when you play the game.
What is the thing you usually encounter every time before you got to boss node?
yes, THAT is your greatest enemy. In some maps, you could fool THEM, but most of the time you CANNOT.
that's how the game works, and a great way to balance the patience of players.
Just like i said previously, the game is almost "Luck" based. from Crafting, to Drops, to PVP.
the rest is manual or systematized.
if ever you joined a KanColle related Groups, you might encounter the word "RNG". In case you didn't know what it means, it's, "Random Number generator", since, of course.... every games runs in numbers, even luck.
About the sortie, you thought you will control the ships in battle? nah, you will just see ships attacking each other in turn-based events AUTOMATICALLY depending on the ships you had on your sortieing fleet and their equips :)
The rest of the information will be spoonfed to you bit by bit when you play the game
So if ever you decided to try the game, all i can say is GOOD LUCK ADMIRAL

Winter anime 2013-2014 update
In my opinion, this season is great, there are few anime titles which is already in their second season in which the community demands when the first season is still ongoing or just finished airing.
there are also some notable titles since the work from it's adaptation is known. There are also hidden gems this season as the others said but still, it will depend on what the watcher prefers.

PO-HC Ozine Fest AFS 2013 Meet up
Meekly as the title says, this post will be solely about the meetup where we, the selected member of the "High Council (Reffered as Admins)" attends to.
First of all, this had been planned long ago ever since our first meetup on Best of Anime 2013 Convention held last October at the SMX convention hall at Mall of Asia. Meaning, there are a lot of *Savings* and Preparation going around for a number of months for the said meetup. Fortunately, we were increased by a one member of attendee than the last time.
The day of our meetup is also the same as a ongoing anime convention which is the "Ozine Fest Anime Figure Special 2013" which is a much smaller event of the Annually held convention in the Philippines which is the "Ozine Fest". If the Main event is more on general activities and merchandise, this one focuses more on Figures and toys such as scale figures, Nendoroids and such.
Being the same date as our meetup, of course, we entered the hall for experience with a ticket which costs a hundred of peso just for an individual to enter. Inside, there are many anime oriented stalls, activities going through on the stage, and other anime groups meeting up too.
Our original Plan is meeting up on Ozine Fest AFS then go to Sambokojin for an Eat-All-You-Can buffet of Japanese dishes.
We did enjoyed this meetup not just because of the plan but also for the suprises!

Darcy (HC member) of course, he is the one who provided some critical info's for our meetup's plan a success.
While wearing our 'Kantai' Tshirts, we go around the vicinity of the event , outside, and inside.
We taken a number of pictures of cosplayers, the event scenery and the stalls itself.
After those things, we decided to get ready as we finally need to go to Sambokojin since the buffet time is around dinner. Separated by two groups, when the first group arrives successfully on the target vicinity/restaurant, the other groups seems to be ended in a number of nodes before arriving which takes a lot of time (still arrived early though)
One of the notable groups present in the first day of the event is the KadiriSubs , a group of filipino Funsubbers as well meme makers on the internet.
First of all, this had been planned long ago ever since our first meetup on Best of Anime 2013 Convention held last October at the SMX convention hall at Mall of Asia. Meaning, there are a lot of *Savings* and Preparation going around for a number of months for the said meetup. Fortunately, we were increased by a one member of attendee than the last time.
The day of our meetup is also the same as a ongoing anime convention which is the "Ozine Fest Anime Figure Special 2013" which is a much smaller event of the Annually held convention in the Philippines which is the "Ozine Fest". If the Main event is more on general activities and merchandise, this one focuses more on Figures and toys such as scale figures, Nendoroids and such.
Being the same date as our meetup, of course, we entered the hall for experience with a ticket which costs a hundred of peso just for an individual to enter. Inside, there are many anime oriented stalls, activities going through on the stage, and other anime groups meeting up too.
Our original Plan is meeting up on Ozine Fest AFS then go to Sambokojin for an Eat-All-You-Can buffet of Japanese dishes.
We did enjoyed this meetup not just because of the plan but also for the suprises!

While wearing our 'Kantai' Tshirts, we go around the vicinity of the event , outside, and inside.
We taken a number of pictures of cosplayers, the event scenery and the stalls itself.
After those things, we decided to get ready as we finally need to go to Sambokojin since the buffet time is around dinner. Separated by two groups, when the first group arrives successfully on the target vicinity/restaurant, the other groups seems to be ended in a number of nodes before arriving which takes a lot of time (still arrived early though)

Winter anime 2013-2014
Winter anime 2013-2014 is coming!
As the night of Christmas and new year approaches us, it may be as well as the new season for us anime lovers.
The current season of Anime TV shows is nearing its end as the 1-cour anime airs their last episode each week. We may see some 2-cour anime which will extend up to the next season too since it have 20 episodes or more to air.
I can also see some people already having a Hard time managing their Disk's free space in their Computers so that they can archive the upcoming titles.
Neregate (A common website that previews Anime charts every season) already released their latest chart for the winter season.

On the other note, Various PV is already released around the internet!
So if you are a casual Anime watcher, i suggest you to make your Winter 2013-2014 list as soon as possible before te New Year's Eve comes.
How to make a list? You may ask your Anime lover companions.
One of the important terms regarding this is the "3-Episode Rule" wherein you give at least three episodes to a title before giving your judgement wether you will drop it, stall it, or continue watching throughout the end.
That term is already common in few anime communities around the world, so try to open your Notepad and start writing down

Saki-Zenkoku-Hen
I'm sure not many of you are fan of the "Saki" series, but in my view, it really is an interesting title which already have two finished seasons : Saki (the Main series) and Saki : Achiga-hen (The side-Story of the mother series).
I don't know how to play majhong but this anime caught my interest in just one episode. First of all is those goosebumps scene and the spectacular effects when the character announces their winning words like "Tsumo".
Also, one of the many things which made this series more interesting is the special abilities their opponent has (the main characters also have them).
One think that you may note down before watching this is, you may feel a sense of "Yuri" throughout the series, specially that there is only one male supporting character in the main series.
The first season focuses the story of the Main protagonist named "Saki" whom described as a student who hates majhong but knows how to play it since she "used" to play with her family before breaking apart.
As the series goes along, she has been discovered by the majhong club and continues up to the nationals. Well, i'll leave it to you on how did that happen when you watch it.
The first season ends at the start of their Finals tournament representing their prefectures representatives.
After the 2-cour long season one of Saki. "Saki : Achiga-hen" aired which is about the childhood friends of Nodoka (Saki's friend in the main series/season 1) when she was still on elementary level before she parted ways at the third year of her middle school.
In this side of the main story is about how the childhood friends of nodoka, specially "Shizu" made the majhong club of Achiga starts again along with her other childhood friends such as Ako and kuro.
And the whole reason for this is because they want to play with Nodoka again with majhong, This time, in Nationals. That being said, in this Side story, it actually finished at the last part of Semi-Finals where they awaits their new foes, and one of them was "Saki".
This series promised a number of good scenes where you will get excited even if you don't know how to play majhong.
So i'll recommend this to you. You may also want to start it now as the Third season of Saki series is already greenlit and will start airing on Winter 2013 Anime on the month of january named "Saki : Zenkoku-hen". From the word Zenkoku means Nationals.
